-

8 PM 7 L.A.’s Finest A quasi-spinoff of the “Bad Boys” movie franchise, this new police drama finds Gabrielle Union reprising her “Bad Boys II” film role of Syd Burnett, who has left behind a complicated past in Miami in favor of a fresh start as a Los Angeles Police Department detective. Her new partner, Nancy McKenna (Jessica Alba), is an equally complicated single mom, but the pair have in common a penchant for skirting the rules as they take down dangerous criminals. 8 PM ( TCM) MOVIE A Cry in the Dark Meryl Streep earned her eighth Oscar nomination playing Lindy Chamberlain, an Australian wife and mother who faces a media firestorm of skepticism and controversy after she and her pastor husband, Michael (Sam Neill), claim their 9-week-old daughter was carried away by a wild dog during a family camping trip. Largely because Chamberlain strikes the public as chilly and emotionally remote, many suspect the parents were somehow complicit in their child’s death. Fred Schepisi directed and co-wrote this 1988 docudrama, airing as part of tonight’s TCM Streep festival.
