Special: Election 2020 Both incumbent president Donald Trump and his Democratic challenger, former vice president Joe Biden, are touting their political face-off as the most consequential election in American history, so as results from today’s election — which are being carried on most U.S. networks and cable news outlets — come in, viewership is expected to set records. Most pundits predict a winner likely may not be declared tonight, owing to unprecedented voting by absentee ballot during the coronavirus pandemic. Judy Woodruff anchors PBS coverage.

8 PM ( FX) MOVIE Book Club Four veteran Oscar- and Emmy-winning actresses clearly have a blast together in director and co-writer Bill Holderman’s 2018 romantic comedy about a quartet of friends (Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen, Mary Steenburgen) who read “Fifty Shades of Grey” for their book club and start to consider changing some aspects of their personal relationships. Some critics carped that the script didn’t rise to the talents of these leading ladies, but a sequel was greenlit almost immediately. Don Johnson, Craig T. Nelson and Richard Dreyfuss also star.

8 PM ( FREE) MOVIE The Hunger

Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 In this 2015 film, realizing the stakes are no longer just for survival, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) teams up with her closest friends, including Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), Gale (Liam Hemsworth) and Finnick (Sam Claflin) for the ultimate mission. Together, they leave District

13 to liberate the citizens of war-torn Panem and assassinate President Snow (Donald Sutherland), who’s obsessed with destroying Katniss. What lies ahead are mortal traps, dangerous enemies and moral choices that will ultimately determine the future of millions.

8 PM ( FLIX) MOVIE Fletch Chevy Chase adopts several personalities and corresponding outfits to discover the truth behind a possible murder in this 1985 comedy. Irwin Fletcher (Chase) is a reporter who is offered a large sum of money to kill a supposedly terminally ill man. However, Fletch does a little research into the potentially dead man’s life, and discovers not all is as it seems. Tim Matheson and Dana WheelerNicholson co-star.

9 PM ( HGTV) Fixer to Fabulous A new episode called “She Said Yes!” features newly engaged couple Joshua and Madison, who recently purchased their first house together. Unfortunately, the place has zero curb appeal and an outdated, closed-off interior. In short, it’s not an ideal place to launch their happily-everafter life, so the couple call on hosts Dave and Jenny Marrs to help renovate the property. 9 PM ( NGEO) Primal Survivor Wilder

ness and survival expert Hazen Audel returns for his fifth season of taking treacherous paths in this documentary series. Using his knowledge and skills, Audel sets off on a journey via lesser traveled roads, where the terrain is unstable and the elements are often harsh and unpredictable. Stopping in local communities, Audel speaks to native residents to gather as much information about the area as possible. The season premiere, “Jungle Ambush,” finds Audel joining the Mani tribe on a hunt in the remote jungles of the Malay Peninsula. 11 PM ( SHO) Stephen Colbert’s Election Night 2020: Democracy’s Last Stand: Building Back America Great Again Better 2020 Late-night host Stephen Colbert hosts another live election night special, reacting to voting results as they come in from each state. From his “virtual underground political bunker,”

Colbert will be virtually joined by “The Circus” co-hosts John Heilemann, Alex Wagner and Mark McKinnon, along with Charlemagne The God. This marks the second time Colbert and Showtime have partnered to bring this unique election coverage. The first was on Nov. 8, 2016, when what was anticipated to be a Hillary Clinton victory party quickly took on a decidedly more downbeat tone.
