Miami, Florida - Mrs. Ann Marshall Burdin passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2020 in Miami, FL at the age of 94. Ann was born on April 29, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio to the late William Allen and Anna May Belle Marshall. She was preceded in death by her husband James William Burdin; sister Betty Jean Lambert; brother-in-law Alfred (Chick) B. Carter, Jr.; nephew Alfred B. Carter III; nephew Leslie Howard Lambert. Ann relocated to Miami with her family and graduated from Miami High in 1944. She began a career in office work at the duPont building, where she was named the prettiest woman in the office and recognized for her talent at making biscuits from scratch. Ann united in marriage with James William Burdin on April 14, 1956. They made a home together in Coral Gables where Ann transition­ed to the role of super mom. She chauffeure­d her children in the family station wagon to their activities and drove that same vehicle on the family trips. She ran the house with a welcoming presence that earned her the affectiona­te name of “Mrs. B” from her children’s friends. Throughout her years, Ann was a master “green thumb” and belonged to the South Miami Garden Club. She served as a two-time President of the club. Ann was a grandmothe­r extraordin­aire, dressing her grandchild­ren with her exceptiona­l eye for style and keeping them satisfied with her cooking and trips to the park. Ann and Jim spent their final years at East Ridge Retirement Village, where Ann was an active participan­t in the many events and committees. Their time together in marriage was celebrated for over 60 wonderful and loving years. She is survived by her son James Marshall Burdin and his wife Cheryl and their daughters Ashley and Kyndal of Boynton Beach, FL; daughter Elizabeth Burdin Mueller and her husband John and their son Joseph of Southern Pines, NC. She also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Elsie Burdin Carter of Marietta, GA and her children Bonnie Carter Miller, Randy Carter, and Kim Carter Thompson along with their spouses Fred, Sarah, and Mike, respective­ly and their children; a niece, Janet Lambert and her son Leslie Lambert, Jr. A service will be held on December 30, 2020, at 2PM at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL.
