Miami, Florida - It is with a heavy heart, we announce, the passing of Andrew (Andy) Donelli. Gone too soon at 90, he was loved and cherished. Having served in the Korean War, he was our own hero, and how fitting that he left us on Veterans Day.

He was born and raised in Mahopac, NY. After graduating from SUNY Cortland, he appeared in Who’s Who in American Colleges. He came to Miami as a teacher and became a coach at Miami Senior High School. He was coaching in 1965 when they attained the State and National Football Championship. He continued his 44 yrs in education at Miami Dade County Public Schools and retired as Director of Transportation. Andy was his own person, a simple man with simple pleasures. He had a big heart, gave the best hugs, and his family always came first. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, football, golf, cooking, old westerns and classical movies. He was proud to be an original member of St Louis Catholic Church, and he was also one of the first participants in the Coconut Grove Art Show with his pottery.

Surviving him are his wife, Arleen, daughter, Kim, other daughter, Patrece, son Mark, and Lauren, wife of his deceased son, Scott. His grandchildren include Matt, Tracy, Greg, Jacob (deceased), Courtney, and great grandchildren. Due to Covid-19, there will be no service. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

“A Life well lived is a Life to be remembered”. Andy, we will always remember and love you...
