WEDNESDAY’S BEST PICKS

-

8 PM $ The Amazing Race Season 32 of “The Amazing Race” actually wrapped production in late 2018, well before the onset of the global coronavirus pandemic, but it didn’t premiere on CBS until last October, the longest hiatus on record between a season’s production and its on-air premiere. It all pays off though, in tonight’s finale called “Now It’s About Winning,” as host Phil Keoghan welcomes two lucky winners to the finish line, located somewhere in New Orleans.

8 PM G Devils Massimo (Alessandro Borghi) uses the dossier to stop Dominic (Patrick Dempsey), discovering who the killer is in the process, in the Season 1 finale. Once Dominic is banished back to the United States, Massimo steps into the role of CEO. Meanwhile, Sofia (Laia Costa), having learned of Massimo’s involvement in her brother’s death, vows to destroy him by revealing the scandal behind the dossier. Kasia Smutniak, Lars Mikkelsen and Malachi Kirby also star.

9 PM & Saturday Night Live Culled from this Emmy-winning late-night comedy show’s long run, the twohour “A Saturday Night Live Christmas Special” — a perennial holiday hit with fans — offers a cavalcade of favorite yuletide-theme sketches performed by Kenan Thompson, Kate McKinnon, Mikey Day, Aidy Bryant and other veteran “SNL” cast members from seasons past.

9 PM _ The Masked Singer It’s all over but the unmasking in the twohour season finale of this hit music show. Host Nick Cannon welcomes back judges Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin

Thicke, who try to discern the identity of the remaining masked performers. Expect some surprise elements while you’re waiting for the big reveal.

9 PM G Penn & Teller: Fool Us God rest ye, merry magicians! Illusionists Penn & Teller are joined by host Alyson Hannigan for a special yuletide edition of this hit reality competition series. Apart from the Christmassy decor, costumes and some other surprise elements, fans of the show will find the familiar format pretty much unchanged, as Penn & Teller watch as aspiring magicians try to impress them with a trick, then try to replicate the illusion based on one viewing.

9 PM ( HBO) MOVIE The Art of Political Murder George Clooney is among the executive producers of this new documentary based on Francisco Goldman’s award-winning book of the same title, which chronicles events leading up to the 1998 murder of Guatemalan human rights activist Bishop Juan Gerardi. That crime sent the country reeling as it struggled to gain control over decades of political violence, igniting a subsequent fight for justice. Paul Taylor (“We Are Together”) directed the film. 10 PM ( TRAV) True Paranormal: Fact or Faked In a new episode called “Creatures in the Night and Red Light,” Ben’s team sets off to investigate a video from the United Kingdom that seems to show a unidentified black animal that was filmed running across a field. Later, Bill leads his team to El Cajon, Calif., to see whether they can debunk a video of what appears to be a triangular red light formation in the night.
