Blaming China Trump’s gift to Putin
Earlier this month, it was reported that computers of certain United States government agencies had been hacked.
Whether it was a cyber attack or an espionage attack, once again, President Trump is blaming China when, according to authorities, including Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and now former Attorney General William Barr, all of the markings point to Russian operatives.
This is another example of Trump favoring Russian President Vladimir Putin in any way he can.
With Trump having lost the election, one of the major problems confronting Democrats — and members of the Lincoln Project — during the transition was that the president would vindictively and maliciously take actions to undermine our democratic institutions and agreements.
A prime example is the Open Skies Treaty that 34 nations joined and became effective on Jan. 1, 2002. This arms-control treaty allowed aerial surveillance flights over countries to uncover any nuclear activity.
These flights were flown by a OC-135B and C-130 Hercules aircraft, which were especially manufactured with the latest technology for this purpose.
Trump not only removed us from this treaty but made sure these invaluable planes were dismantled and destroyed so that Presidentelect Biden could not use them in the future.
So whom did these actions benefit?
Russia’s Putin. We can no longer observe any nuclear activity over his country.
This is one of a plethora of gifts Trump has given Putin.
Why?
I hope that, one day, the truth will come out.
