Miami, Florida - Carl Harding Popper Jr. passed away peacefully on January 7, 2021. His beloved wife Lucille Popper, his brother, Richard Popper and his son, Dr. Robert Popper, predecease­d him. He was a devoted father to Ellen Trimas ( Don Trimas) and Amy Vogel ( Howard Vogel) and cherished grandfathe­r to Garrett Trimas. Carl will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Carl was born in Lynbrook, New York. He attended The Citadel University and enlisted in the Army while he was in college. While in the Army Carl met, his beloved Lucille and they married while he was still in the service. In 1953, they moved their family to Miami Beach so Carl could join his father’s optometric practice on Lincoln Road. Although his profession was that of an optician, his passion was tennis. He was a regular at Flamingo Park for many decades. In addition to tennis, Carl loved dining out, travel, friends and attending family events. He took great pride in the life that he and Lucille created. He will be missed by all that knew him. A private service for the family will be held Sunday January 10 at Lakeside Memorial Cemetery. Donations can be made to the charity of ones favor. Love and gratitude to Esther Vaccianna, his loving and faithful caregiver.
