8 PM ( LIFE) MOVIE Salt-N-Pepa This new original Lifetime docudrama charts the careers of the groundbreaking hip-hop duo from their early days when Cheryl “Salt” James (G.G. Townson) and Sandra “Pepa” Denton (Laila Odom) were students at New York’s Queensborough Community College. The film chronicles how the duo changed the look of hip-hop on their way to becoming the first women in that genre to go platinum and earn multiple awards. Cleveland Berto, Monique Paul and Jermel Howard also star. An interview special hosted by Loni Love immediately follows this movie.
8 PM ( HBO) MOVIE Don’t Let Go British actor David Oyelowo (“Selma”) stars in writer-director Jacob Aaron Estes’ 2019 supernatural horror film, in which he plays homicide detective Jack Radcliff, who finds himself drawn into an eerie case after his niece, her mother and stepfather are found murdered in their home. Shortly thereafter, he begins receiving phone calls that suggest his late niece is contacting him from the past. Storm Reid, Byron Mann, Mykelti Williamson, Alfred Molina and Brian Tyree Henry co-star.
8 PM ( BBCA) A Wild Year On Earth Best known for her role as the hapless Lady Edith Crawley in “Downton Abbey,” actress Laura Carmichael narrates this visually stunning new docuseries, which charts Earth’s natural events such as migration, rebirth and transformation over the course of a year. The premiere, “January -February: The Year Begins — Extended,” examines how the start of any year is a time of extremes across the planet. As the Northern Hemisphere plunges into winter, animals and humans respond very differently to weather in the tropics.
9 PM ( HALL) MOVIE A Winter Getaway After an unassuming “regular guy” unexpectedly is gifted a luxury trip, his circumstances lead some of those around him to mistake him for a millionaire in this new 2021 romance. As he and the beautiful concierge entrusted with making sure this getaway goes smoothly start to spend more time together, some unmistakably romantic sparks start to fly. Unfortunately, the guy can’t help worrying whether this beauty will still be interested once she discovers what his usual life is really like. Nazneen Contractor and Brooks Darnell star.
