8 PM ( HBO) MOVIE Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure Slacker dudes Bill and Ted (Alex Winter, Keanu Reeves) have a lot riding on their final history report. For one thing, if Ted flunks history, he’s off to military school in Alaska. But thanks to a mysterious stranger and a time machine, the boys deliver a presentati­on that knocks everyone’s socks off, complete with actual historical figures from Socrates to Sigmund Freud. George Carlin also stars in this 1989 comedy classic. A 1991 sequel, “Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey,” immediatel­y follows.

8 PM ( TCM) MOVIE Dances With Wolves Kevin Costner’s 1990 Western about a white man who goes to live with American Indians and learns to appreciate their way of life won Oscars for best picture and best director. Costner stars as John Dunbar, a decorated Union soldier who mans a remote outpost in the Dakotas, where he is the only white man around. He slowly gets to know and admire the indigenous people. Oscar nominees Mary McDonnell and Graham Greene co-star.

8 PM ( BBCA) A Wild Year On Earth The new episode “November-December” opens as millions of migrating Monarch butterflie­s converge in the forests of Mexico for the winter, a gathering that coincides with the Mexican Day of the Dead. Meanwhile, in arid South Africa, returning rains are welcomed by nesting birds, and in Australia, warming waters trigger the annual coral spawning in the magnificen­t Great Barrier Reef. Laura Carmichael (“Downton Abbey”) narrates.

9 PM ( HALL) MOVIE It Was Always You Elizabeth’s (Erin Krakow) engagement planning may be thrown off schedule when a severe storm strands her fiancé in a completely different part of their town when they were supposed to meet to finalize last-minute details. Having his free-spirited brother David (Tyler Hynes) around isn’t proving to be very helpful, either, but as Elizabeth starts to feel overwhelme­d by a looming engagement party, David prompts her to question some big life decisions in this 2021 romance.

9 PM ( OWN) Love & Marriage: Hunts

ville Marsau lets Wanda know in no uncertain terms that her recent behavior has been completely unacceptab­le in the new episode “To Martell the Truth.” Elsewhere, Melody turns her heartbreak into song and also brings in someone to talk to the kids about the divorce. The guys go camping and, after an accident, Martell reveals a startling secret. After filing for divorce, Melody returns home, where things get heated with Martell.
