Miami Shores, Florida June Fleischer Jacobs “snuck out” to join her predeceased husband of 66 years, Stuart, on October 20, 2021. She is survived by her children, Doug (Jane) Jacobs, Suzy Jacobs (Scott Meyer), and Stan (Nanci) Jacobs; her grandchildren, Dennis Jacobs, Bryan (Ali) Jacobs, Spenser Jacobs, Stephanie Jacobs, Sydni Jacobs, Reason Meyer, Sheri Goldberg, Alex (Ali) Goldberg, and Jonathan Goldberg; and her great-grandchildren; Ace Jacobs, Cole Jacobs, Cage Mayes, Ryan Goldberg, Tyler Goldberg, cousins, friends, and two dogs.

Mom was born in New York City, graduated from Riverdale Country School for Girls, and attended Pennsylvania College for Women. Married Stuart Jacobs and had Doug, Sue, and Stanley, and lived happily in Miami Beach until retiring to Miami Shores.

Mom was our anchor and we remained close throughout our lives. She gave great hugs, always had a kind word and good advice, kept all of your secrets, and she was really good company. She loved chocolate, slapstick, Kevin McHale (basketball player), and Gregory Peck. She was happiest with her family, at home in her big bed watching TV with her dogs, but mostly with Dad. Mom loved each of us kids best and gave us “roots and wings.”

A Summa Cum Laude from FIU, mom worked for Dade-County Schools helping students at Miami Springs High and Turner Tech select, apply to, and fund their college education. She was an outstanding CAP Counselor. Once when frustrated students vandalized administrators’ offices, Mom’s office wasn’t touched. Students stopped in to check on her and admitted they knew Mrs. Jacobs wouldn’t have been attacked because she was always friendly, kind, and respectful. That was her way. Mom loved kids, hers and yours.

Our mother is known for an open-heart and an openhome, filled with her many dogs. Before she died, we asked her what she’d like her obit to read: “She lived, she died, and she loved her dogs.” Indeed she did, and she asks that any donation in her name be made to either ASPCA.org or Humanebroward.com.

Mom will join Dad in his niche in a private ceremony. To celebrate her life, have a martini.
