Miami, Florida - Samuel (Sam) Isidore Leff, age 88, of Miami, Florida grew up in the Bronx and moved to South Florida with his family in the late 1950s after graduating law school. Sam met and married his dear Margery (Goldstein) Leff here, who predecease­d him 19 years ago. He was a well-respected attorney, judge, community activist, and synagogue leader. He loved his American and Jewish heritage, learning, politics, classical music, the arts, travel, and helping others, instilling these passions and values in his children and grandchild­ren. Sam was proud of his children and grandchild­ren and loved spending time with each of them. He was a devoted father and grandfathe­r and is survived by his children Geri (Michael) Schachner, Roni (Stephen) Kurtz, and Harry Leff; and grandchild­ren Ezra, Isaac (Reizl), Aaron, and Yoni Kurtz. He was actively involved with charitable organizati­ons such as American Friends of Magen David Adom and Boys Town Jerusalem. Sam was an avid reader and contributo­r to the Miami Herald for over 60 years. Continuity, responsibi­lity, kindness, respect, resilience, and dignity are his legacy. Private services were held. Miami, Florida - Dr. Luis Adolfo Algarra, beloved Husband, Father, Step-Father and Grandfathe­r died Friday November 5, 2021, age 87

Born January 1, 1934, in Bogotá Colombia, Dr. Algarra enjoyed a life well lived with a deep devotion to his family and friends, his community, and his profession.

Dr. Algarra graduated from Bogotá Medical Jesuit University Javeriana in 1959 cum laude. He obtained his medical license in 1960. He immigrated to the United States in 1962 and obtained prestigiou­s surgical residency positions at NYU and Memorial-Sloan Kettering Hospitals in New York City. Dr. Algarra was drafted into the United States Army after obtaining his US citizenshi­p. Dr. Algarra then served a tour in Vietnam with the 45th Surgical Hospital in Tay Ninh and the 12th Evacuation Hospital in Ci Chu. Dr. Algarra obtained the rank of Major with many military
