Les, dearest Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, loyal and loving companion called “Grandpa Mookie” by his grandkids, passed away in peace on Monday, July 11, 2022. He had an amazing life and passed on to everyone great lessons of love, loyalty, perseverance and respect. Survived by his children, The Honorable Marisa (Dave Strom) Tinkler Mendez, Amy (Mark) Sawicki and Beth (Kevin) Tinkler O’Rourke. His grandchildren Louis (Jori ), Daniel (Isa) Sarah (Phillip) Mendez, Bobby Speck, Holly (Elliott) Pate; his Great Grandson -son, Matthew Tucker Mendez former spouse Barbara (Gafter) Pekor; brother Allen (Susan) Tinkler; cousins, nephews, nieces, countless friends, and acquaintances. He is also survived by his loving companion, Mimi Leibovitch, Dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, who will remain forever in our hearts.

Aventura, Florida - Joan Robbins (nee Greenwald), 85, of Aventura, passed away on July 15, 2022.

Beloved mother of Rabbi Dina London (Adam) and Dr. Carolyn Manley (Patrick). Devoted grandmother to Dr. Zachary April, Dr. Samantha April, Benjamin Manley, and Marissa Manley. Long-time partner of the late Donald Kaplan and former wife of the late Gerald Robbins.

Since arriving in South Florida from Shaker Heights, Ohio in 1955 to attend the University of Miami, Joan was an extremely active member of the community. She was president of the Highland Oaks Elementary Parent Teacher’s Association and President of the N.E. Area Gifted Association. She was a volunteer at Mount Sinai Medical Center, WPBT-Channel 2, Society for Abused Children, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Miami, and Foster Children Reading Program. She sat on the boards of Avenue Literary Society, Citizens Advisory Board of WLRN-Public Radio/TV, and City of Aventura
