Cordless hand vacuum has impressive versatility
Dewalt has added the 20V Max Cordless Dry Hand Vacuum to its famous 20V Max cordless tool line.
The handheld vacuum works off the 65 air watt Dewalt 5.0Ah DCB205 rechargeable battery pack (sold separately) to produce just over 20 minutes of vacuuming, and 15 tank fills. A bright LED light on the top of the unit assists by lighting the debris needed to be cleaned.
Six cleaning attachments can tackle any small mess, even in hardto-reach locations. All attach to the front end and include a two-foot flexible hose, stretching out to 6 feet. The cordless vacuum attached to my belt (belt hook included) using the flexible tube with the extension tube made it clean every corner of the garage. With the extension tube alone, hard-to-reach areas under car seats were no longer hard to reach.
The other accessories are a round brush, gulper brush, crevice nozzle and floor nozzle. A drawstring mess accessory bag for storing the accessories is included.
A transparent body shows the contents of what the vacuum captures, and when it’s ready to be emptied, hold it over a trash can and use the dust bowl release button to open it. The filter assembly removes with a twist and back in the same way. Inside is a HEPA filter, which follows OSHA Table 1 Compliance under housekeeping rules according to Dewalt.
Dewalt recommends cleaning the filter with warm, soapy water before reinstalling it. And wait about 12 hours to ensure it’s completely dry before the subsequent use.
The versatility of the 20V systems allows for multiple tools to run off the same battery and battery charger. The 250plus tools in the Dewalt handheld tool category include saws, drills, hedge clippers, trimmers, impact drivers, wrenches and sanders. All are working off the same model rechargeable battery.
