(Catchy Comedy, Sunday, June 18): Before “The Andy Griffith Show”

“Mayberry R.F.D.” signed off, the series set up a spinoff by introducing likable Ken Berry as Sam Jones, a farmer and town councilman who’s also a widower father like Griffith’s Sheriff Andy Taylor. Frankly, the overall intention was to keep this show as much like the original as possible, to the extent of transferring a number of the supporting characters. This all-day marathon of the show, extending into early the following morning, constitutes the second half of a weekend “Binge.”

(Me TV, Monday, June 19): Though it might not be thought of often, this

“Perry Mason” law drama’s heyday coincided with the rise of rock music, and the 1966 episode “The Case of the Avenging Angel” makes use of that theme. Legal eagle Mason (Raymond Burr) is asked by a client to participate in the negotiations to turn a young man (Martin Horsey) into a singing star, but the would-be celebrity ultimately ends up a murder suspect when a talent agent who was linked to the situation is killed. Of course, Mason tries to clear the defendant.

(AMC, Wednesday, June 21): “You can’t handle the truth!” Or

“A Few Good Men” maybe you can, especially if you’re familiar with Aaron Sorkin’s play or director Rob Reiner’s 1992 movie version about two soldiers (Wolfgang Bodison, James Marshall) on trial for the alleged “Code Red” hazing of one of their peers — supposedly on the orders of their stern commander (a great Jack Nicholson). Tom Cruise, Demi Moore and Kevin Pollak play the defendants’ military lawyers.
