This fan looks great and works great

- BY GREGG ELLMAN www.dreo.com

If it’s possible to consider a fan a piece of art, then the Dreo PolyFan 513S Air Circulator Fan wins the prize, at least for my living room. The more critical part is Dreo’s description of the modern-looking fan as “Air circulation like never before.”

The fan looks great; more on that below. What’s important is how the fan works, and without being a fan expert – but knowing what’s comfortable or not – I can report that the PolyFan’s performance shines.

What makes it special is that it provides a natural breeze with much power. Dreo describes the natural breeze from an impressive five-blade design, which produces winds that go farther but feel gentle on your skin even when you’re close to it.

My wife and I tested the fan during a night of TV watching, when many other fans have annoyed us and ended up being turned off quickly. With the app-controlled functions (a wireless remote control is included), it was easy to get the proper speeds and angles. Amazingly, the Dreo PolyFan 513S was invited for a second night and many more nights of TV watching.

The easy-to-assemble AC-powered pedestal fan measures 12.76-by-14.13by-37.96 inches with an adjustable pedestal. The height is adjustable from 37.96 to 43.5 inches.

It’s rated to reach a maximum distance of 100 feet and has eight speed settings. If any fan tech heads are out there, this one produces 882CFM of air volume. The ultra-quiet brushless DC motor is rated by Dreo as 25-51; when set at an almost silent 25dB it won’t disturb your sleep.

It has a 120-degree horizontal omnidirectional oscillation and 105 degrees vertically, with six speed modes including auto, custom, natural, normal, sleep and turbo. There are eight built-in speeds and a 12-hour on/off timer. Assembling it took a few minutes; they even supplied the few tools needed.

Both the app and the included wireless control worked great. Alexa and Google Assistant can control the fan. A digital display is built into the pole to show the active settings. There is a row of touch controls on top of the fan, which I didn’t use much at all; I stayed with the app.

The customizable positions and speed make the Dreo PolyFan 513S Air Circulator Fan perfect for any room. With a weight of 16 pounds, it’s easily portable.

The grill blades are removable and can be easily disassembled for cleaning by removing the front grille and rotating it counterclockwise. Then, remove the pieces for cleaning. But remember the order of removal for

reassembly.

After experiencing how great the Dreo PolyFan 513S Air Circulator Fan works, it does take some thought and family debating to decide where to keep the fan. It’s easily portable as long as you have an AC power outlet close by. When deciding where to put it, customize a program in the app for the unique setups in each room where it will be used.

With the Dreo PolyFan 513S Air Circulator Fan,

with a brown and charcoal gray appearance, you almost get a fan that’s a piece of art with a modern look. My first impression was that it resembled a studio light on a production set. But its slick looks and portable design lets it fit into any room.

Dreo also has a tabletop version, the DRHAF004S fan ($89.99), with many of the same features as the pedestal PolyFan 513S ($139.99).
