Local 10 meteorologist Betty Davis still positive for coronavirus
Betty Davis is still having a tough time getting over coronavirus.
The Local 10 chief meteorologist had been briefly hospitalized about two weeks ago with the highly contagious illness and is currently recuperating at home.
Davis told her Facebook followers on Monday that she tested positive for COVID-19 after her hospital stay and remains quarantined.
The weather expert said she doesn’t feel 100 percent but is better than a few weeks ago and gave thanks to her husband for taking care of her: “Let’s just say our quarantine game is tight.”
On Monday evening’s newscast, Davis told WPLG anchors Calvin Hughes and Nicole Perez — who is back to work after her own recent bout with the virus — that COVID-19 is unpredictable.
“You wake up and you’re thinking, ‘This is it, I’m turning the corner,’ and then later that night you can barely keep your eyes open,” she said. “It’s been just a very odd illness to deal with.”
The symptoms continue to linger, coming in waves.
“When I got the diagnosis, I didn’t know what was going to happen next,” she said. “Initially, I thought I could fight this off at home, and then before you know it you’re in the hospital. And then you’re being told you have to stay in the hospital. You do not know what’s going to happen next with COVID.”
On the bright side: Anchor Louis Aguirre and Perez’s husband, Roy Ramos, are also back at work after recuperating from COVID-19.
