TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS

-

8 PMGHeroes on the Front Line Dean Cain (“Masters of Illusion”) serves as host for this new onehour special that, like several other such tributes, takes a moment to honor those on the ground heroes and front line emergency workers who selflessly risked their own welfare to keep other Americans safe and cared for during the topsy-turvy reality of a global pandemic. Details will be announced at a later date.

8 PM( LIFE) Married at First Sight

In the run-up to a new season of this highly unconventional relationship series and social experiment, Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Pastor Calvin Roberson and Dr. Viviana Coles meet and evaluate a diverse assortment of hopeful singles and choose the ten who will marry a complete stranger in a new edition of this program.

8 PM( MAX) MOVIE Bowfinger Two “Saturday Night Live” alums with very different styles come together in this satire of the filmmaking process. Steve Martin wrote the script and stars as a failed producer looking to get one big hit before he turns 50. Eddie Murphy plays two roles in one: a superstud action star and the nerdy actor hired to replace him.

10 PM (FOOD) Beat Bobby Flay There’s more facial hair in the kitchen than usual in the new episode “Mustache Takeover” as mustachioed chefs Saransh Oberoi and Tom Cuomo face off for a shot at taking down clean shaven master Bobby Flay. Actor and chef David Burtka joins restaurateur Donatella Arpaia to cheer on all the culinary action. 10 PM (TNT) MOVIE Gladiator Maximus (Russell Crowe), a great Roman general, is marked for death for refusing to support the new emperor (Joaquin Phoenix) — who got the job by killing his own father. He manages to escape, but the emperor executes his family. Then, Maximus is easily captured and sold into slavery, putting his military training to good use as a gladiator.

10:08 PM (USA) MOVIE Fast & Furious The central cast of the original movie in the “Fast and the Furious” franchise — Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster — is reunited in this fourth chapter, which adds solid character development to the expectedly frantic automotive action.
