CONFINED AT HOME LOOKING TO 2024 BITTER ENDING

-

In the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine, what about those of us senior citizens who are homebound?

Who is going to come over and vaccinate us?

This is an important issue, as there are so many senior citizens in Florida.

Missouri Republican Sen. Josh Hawley announced Dec. 30 that he will object when Congress counts the Electoral College votes next week, as part of an ongoing, but futile, effort to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

This action by one of Donald Trump’s staunchest supporters has nothing to do with protecting the core underpinnings of our constitutional democracy. It is naked political calculus. Hawley is simply pandering to the mentality of Trump’s base to position himself for a run at the White House in 2024, should Trump choose not to engage.

It is essentially a foregone conclusion that President-elect Joe Biden will be a one-term president, with Kamala Harris and a slew of Democratic candidates running in his stead in 2024.

There will likely be others who crave their moment under the spotlight, so do not be surprised when one or more of Hawley’s Senate colleagues jumps on the Jan. 6 bandwagon, including Sen. Marco Rubio.

In the past, South Florida has been home to the criminal side of high society. To name a few: Richard Nixon on Key Biscayne, O J. Simpson in Miami, Jeffrey Epstein in Palm Beach.

And now, to top it off, they have been joined by Donald J. Trump in

Palm Beach.

It takes the sweet out of our home sweet home!
