TOO LENIENT ‘‘ NOW WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH MY 89 MILLION PARLER FOLLOWERS?

One of the reasons the Republican Party has become the party of unAmerican actions and statements is because Richard Nixon was allowed to get away with his crimes with only a legal slap on the wrist. Gerald Ford was a good and decent man, but still a GOP minion in giving Nixon a blanket pardon.

Under the guise of sparing the country, Nixon was never held accountable for his crimes, and that emboldened future Republican presidents. Donald Trump and his criminality are the result of that leniency.

It’s past time to hold Trump accountable for his actions, statements and failures.

He should be charged and put on trial. Let the man defend himself. Let incarceration be meted out if he is found guilty.

Hypothetically, if a Democrat president ignored the emoluments clause, tried to extort the leader of a foreign country, attempted interference with election results, incited volatile followers to riot, and encouraged a coup, among other things, what actions would the Republican Party take?
