MARTHE SINGER March 29, 1934 April 1, 2021

ATLANTA, Georgia

Beloved mother of Caren Simon, David Singer and Jennifer Thornton, cherished grandmother of Amy Senna (Kerry), Gregory Levitt (Rebecca), Scott Simon, and Jacob Simon (Savanna), Daniel Singer and Jeremy Singer, and Kyle Thornton, adored great-grandmother of Ava and Callan Senna.

Marthe graduated from the University of Connecticut in June of 1954 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. She was a pioneer in this field as it was very unusual for a woman to study and receive a degree in Physical Therapy in the 1950’s. In May of 1981 she received a Master of Science from The University of Miami.

Marthe worked for many years at Miami Coral Reef Hospital as the head of the Physical Therapy Department. She also worked for various home health agencies and later owned her own agency. She had many accomplishments in the medical field and enjoyed working with her hundreds of patients throughout the years. Marthe helped babies through geriatrics recover from disease to injury and made many friends along the way. She worked hard her entire career to provide for her family.

There was never a cat, dog, bird or rabbit that Marthe did not want to rescue, adopt or bring home. Her house was always filled with animals and her pets gave her great joy. However, her greatest joy came from being with her family.
