It’s no relaxing day at the beach in ‘Old’

A movie about a tropical vacation that proves to be anything but rejuvenati­ng tops the DVD releases for the week of Oct. 19.

“Old”: A family staying at a seaside resort starts aging rapidly after some leisure time at a secluded beach, reducing their life expectancy to one day, in director M. Night Shyamalan’s latest thriller starring Gael Garcia Bernal, Vicky Krieps and Rufus Sewell.

“Snake Eyes”: An origin story for G.I. Joe’s mysterious ninja character, starring Henry Golding in the title role as he looks to avenge his father’s murder.

“The Protege”: Maggie Q plays an assassin, raised and trained by Samuel L. Jackson’s contract killer character, who is forced to go on the run after he is killed. Also starring Michael Keaton.

“Joe Bell”: Based on a true story,

Mark Wahlberg stars as a grieving father who decides to walk from Oregon to New York City to raise awareness about bullying after his gay son dies by suicide.

“Honey Girls”: Three young musicians are chosen as contestant­s for a TV competitio­n to discover the next big solo act, but realize they are actually better together and form a band in secret.

“Last Man Down”: A former special forces soldier retreats to a forest abode after a pandemic destroys civilizati­on, but his solitude is interrupte­d when a woman shows up who has escaped from a lab and may be the key to curing the virus.

“Needle in a Timestack”: Leslie Odom Jr. and Cynthia Erivo star as a married couple who see their marital bliss interrupte­d by the arrival of Orlando Bloom’s ex-boyfriend character in this time travel romance based on sci-fi author Robert Silverberg’s novel.

“No Man of God”: Set in the last years of Ted Bundy’s life when the serial killer was behind bars. Elijah Wood plays an FBI agent interviewi­ng the murderer, portrayed by Luke Kirby.

“Superman & Lois: Complete First Season”: The CW series that debuted earlier this year finds Superman settling down in present-day Smallville with Lois Lane and their twin sons.

“The Survivalis­t”: Following society’s collapse due to a deadly pandemic, a former FBI agent must protect the young woman he encounters who seems to be immune to the disease. Starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers and John Malkovich.

“Tiger: Parts One and Two”: HBO miniseries examining the superstar golfer’s playing career, personal scandals and legacy.

“Fear PHarm 2”: This horror sequel takes up the story where the original film ended, with a young woman having survived a deadly corn maze only to find herself held hostage by the family running the scary attraction.

“Injustice”: DC Comics animated film that pits Batman against Superman on an alternate Earth after machinatio­ns by the Joker.
