8PM (LIFE) MOVIE Highway to Heaven Actress and singer Jill Scott is both an executive producer and star on this new modern reboot of the classic TV drama that ran on NBC for five seasons in the late ’80s. Scott takes the gender-switched lead — a character originated by Michael Landon — as Angela, a heavenly emissary dispatched to help mortals in crisis. Barry Watson (“7th Heaven”) also stars as Bruce, a junior high school principal to whom Angela reveals her true identity. The drama will air as a series of event TV movies. 8PM (HBO) MOVIE Land Actress Robin Wright (“House of Cards”) made her feature directoria­l debut in this moving, characterd­riven 2021 drama, in which she also takes the lead role of Edee Holzer, a middle-aged woman left shattered by an unspeakabl­e tragedy. Retreating to an isolated cabin in the wilderness of Wyoming, Edee begins her long healing process, which includes multiple physical challenges, a near-death experience and an unexpected friendship with a local hunter (Demián Bichir) who helps her reconnect with life.

Kim Dickens and Warren Christie also star.

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard return to their roles as velocirapt­or wrangler Owen Grady and Claire Dearing, the former operations manager of Jurassic World, in this 2018 action-adventure sequel, the central “panel” in a planned “Jurassic World” trilogy. The story finds the nowestrang­ed couple setting aside their personal issues to save Blue and the other remaining park animals from a volcanic eruption that threatens their Central American island.
