Curry leads Warriors to eighth win in a row

-

Stephen Curry scored 13 of his 33 points in the fourth quarter and the Golden State Warriors extended their winning streak to eight with a 105-90 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday.

Otto Porter Jr. added 18 points, and Jordan Poole had 17 for the Warriors. They improved their NBA-best record to 18-2 heading into a showdown Tuesday night in Phoenix against the streaking Suns — 17-3 after winning 16 straight.

Paul George led Los Angeles with 30 points, and Eric Bledsoe and Marcus Morris added 13 apiece. The Clippers came into the game with wins in eight of their last 10 home games. The Warriors are 7-0 on the road.

The Clippers played the Warriors tough in a 115113 loss during the opening week of the season, but they could not keep pace this time in the second half.

Golden State led 44-42 at halftime before starting the third quarter on an 11-2 run. Curry scored seven points during the spurt and Draymond Green had four as the Warriors took a 55-44 advantage four minutes into the second half.

Bucks 118, Pacers 100: Giannis Antetokounmpo had 26 points and 13 rebounds and Milwaukee extended its winning streak to seven, routing host Indiana.

The Bucks led by five at halftime and pulled away with a 39-27 third quarter. Guard Jrue Holiday scored 11 of his 23 points in the quarter. Much like the surging Bucks, who improved to 13-8, Holiday has been hot in averaging 19.7 points in the last four victories. He also had nine assists and seven rebounds against Indiana.

“Being able to go through the things we went through last year was huge,” Holiday said of winning the NBA title. “We know we can make a run at any time.”

Celtics 109, Raptors

97: Marcus Smart scored 21 points, Al Horford had 17 points and 11 rebounds and visiting Boston beat the short-handed Toronto to snap a two-game losing streak. Josh Richardson scored 18 of Boston’s 32 bench points. Jaylen Brown added 16 points, and Grant Williams had 15 to help the Celtics improve to 11-10.

Grizzlies 128, Kings 101: Dillon Brooks scored 21 points, Desmond Bane added 18 and host Memphis took advantage of Sacramento's poor shooting to beat Sacramento. Jaren Jackson Jr. added 17 points and nine rebounds, and Brandon Clarke had 15 points to help Memphis snap a two-game losing streak.

Raptors:

Goran Dragic has left Toronto because of a personal matter. The Raptors said Sunday before their game against Boston that the 35-year-old guard — acquired along with Precious Achiuwa in the offseason deal that sent Kyle Lowry to Miami — wasn’t with the team.

“First of all, he’s a really good dude, extremely professional, very wise … enjoyable guy to be around and coach,” coach Nick Nurse said.

Dragic has played in just five games with the Raptors, averaging 8.0 points, 1.8 assists and 2.8 rebounds and 17.9 minutes. He’s played just once since Oct. 25.
