Can you get a COVID test or a vaccine on Memorial Day? These sites will be open
Are you looking for a COVID-19 test or vaccine on Memorial Day weekend?
Whether you need it to travel or to gather with family, you shouldn’t have any trouble getting a nose swab or a shot during the holiday stretch in MiamiDade and Broward counties.
While sites are open their regular hours on Saturday and Sunday, some are closed or have reduced hours on Monday, Memorial Day.
In Broward County, for example, the Broward health department-run COVID test and vaccine sites will be closed on Monday. That means you’ll have to visit a retail pharmacy or a site in neighboring Miami-Dade County. Another option is to find a retail pharmacy that’s open. And if what you need is a test, you could always buy an athome kit.
MIAMI-DADE TEST SITES ON MEMORIAL DAY
Test sites are open their regular hours on Saturday and Sunday. Here’s a list of sites that open 24 hours on Memorial Day:
Tropical Park, 7900 SW 40th St. Site is drivethru. Offers PCR nasal swab test and antigen rapid test.
Zoo Miami, 12400 SW 152nd St. Site is drivethru. Offers PCR nasal swab test and antigen rapid test.
South Dade Government Center, 10710 SW 211th St.. Offers PCR nasal swab test and antigen rapid test.
Miami International Airport has two COVID test sites and one is open 24 hours.

OTHER TEST SITES
Several other COVID test sites will be open in Miami-Dade County on Memorial Day.
Aventura Mall will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Dolphin Mall will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The 17th Street parking garage and the 84th Street parking site in Miami Beach will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All four sites are walk-up and offer PCR nasal swab test and antigen rapid tests.

VACCINE SITES
Several vaccine sites will be open in Miami-Dade on Memorial Day although none will be open 24/7. Some sites that will be open include the Joseph Caleb Center, 5400 NW 22nd St. in Miami, and Kendall Indian Hammocks Park, 11395 SW 79th St. Both sites are walk-up and are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

PHARMACIES
While most stores will be open on Memorial Day, some retail pharmacies in Miami-Dade and Broward counties will be closed or operating on reduced hours. Publix will be open regular hours but its pharmacies will be closed. Winn-Dixie, Fresco y Más and Walmart will be open, with their pharmacies operating on reduced hours.
CVS and Walgreens will also be open but some of their non 24-hour pharmacies might have reduced hours. Some CVS pharmacies may also be closed on the holiday. Call your store for its hours of operation and vaccine availability. You can also search for available COVID-19 vaccine appointments online on those stores’ websites.
