Terry Michael Goldberg January 1, 1946 - May 28, 2022

-

Miami, Terry was born on New Year’s Day…a time to reflect on who we’ve been, a time to examine our motives and the bigger picture, a time to press forward and begin again.

This is so fitting for a man who has finished his earthly journey and left us with a legacy of inspiration that will only continue to expand in time.

Terry’s life will be measured not only by success which he achieved, but more by significance which he possessed. He mentored so many with his sage advice, his gentlemanly kindness, his “Old World” charm, his salty humor and yes, his uncanny impatience with people and things that took advantage of the system – Or himself.

Ask anyone who knew him, any age…and lifestyle… and they would say the same thing. “This was one of the last of the Good Guys, a beautiful soul, a

throwback to the Old and Better ways – a MENSCH!”

Terry was dressed like he was stepping out of GQ, even on a casual day, always in black, and always remembering to open a door and express his timeless love for his beautiful wife Diane.

He gave his children, and grandchildren, unwavering accountability, unforgettable adventures, life lessons, and hands-on experience to last a life time. Hailey & Olivia knew their “Pops T” would not only be accessible, but 100% in the moment, proudly sharing their accomplishments and opening his world to them.

His sister Sue and Stan, more a brother than an inlaw, were a central part of his life. His friends knew his consistency, his camaraderie and his mutual love of the outdoors, fishing, Ferrari’s, a great meal and an even greater conversation.

He will be missed forever by the love of his life, Diane who for 40-years has set the bar for what a partner gives, and does, and receives when they’ve found the person who completes their story. She let him live his last chapter on HIS terms, and never left his side.

Terry was a businessman, a builder, an entrepreneur, an investor…surely a SelfMade Man, but those things pale in comparison to what he achieved as a human being. He lived a rich life, filled with memorable joys, and a fair share of mishaps that, at times, both connect and isolate us, but perhaps keep us real.

Terry was selflessly motivated by his fierce love of family, whom he cherished along with his precious puppies, who always occupied a place in his heart.

He will eternally be remembered by his smile, his integrity, his loyalty and sense of fair play…May his memory be a blessing.

He was predeceased by his parents, Sophie and Harold Goldberg. Survived by his cherished children, Jody and Clement; as well as his sister, Sue (Stan) Greenberg; and niece and nephew, Jill and Mark. He leaves behind his soul-mate, Diane; and her loving children, Marty Kovens, Heather (Shawn) Chemtov, who he raised to become his family, and they thoroughly devoted themselves to his well-being and care these last difficult months. Missing him already are his adoring grand-daughters, Hailey Love and Olivia Star; along with many relatives, and the vast community of friends he created.

Services will be held Sunday, June 5, 2022 from 2:30 to 3:30 PM at Lakeside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 10301 NW 25th Street, Miami, FL 33172.
