Hialeah, Florida - Beverly Hagedorn Roetz, age 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Aventura Hospital in Miami, FL. She was born April 14, 1940, in Nyack, NY.

Bev was diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes at the age of 5. She survived 2 diabetic comas by the age of 11 and was truly a miracle case living with Type 1 Diabetes for 77 years. The family would like to recognize Dr. Carlos Coelho for his decades of compassion­ate care.

Bev regularly offered support and guidance for those she met affected with Diabetes. While she enjoyed traveling, particular­ly Disney World, shopping, and Vera Bradley. Her favorite moments were spent enjoying her family and friends. Over the years she served as a Director of Volunteer Services and worked with Grants within the Miami Dade County School System. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church and was a former President of the Miami Springs Historical Society.

She had recently moved from her Hialeah home of 60 years. Her Husband Richard passed away in 2019. She is survived by her Daughters, Janet Roetz Stemmerman and her Husband Richard; Susan Roetz and her Grandson, Brett Stemmerman; her Brother/Sister In-Law Ken and Tottie Roetz; Godchildre­n Wendy Wallberg and Philip Daye, her Nephews and familes, and many extended loving family members and close friends.

A Celebratio­n of Life Memorial Service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Miami Springs on Saturday, June 11th at 10:30 AM with a reception following in the Church Fellowship Hall. A private family burial will follow. The family requests in lieu of flowers that any donation gifts be given to the American Diabetes Associatio­n or Grace Lutheran Church. Arrangemen­ts are being handled by John Hanks Memorial Services.
