Miami, Florida - Eduardo F. Bello, 84 of Miami, FL, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, June 12, after fighting a valiant twoyear battle with cancer. Born to Natalia and Benigno Bello in Victoria de Las Tunas, Cuba on November 27, 1937, he was raised in his beloved homeland until he came to the United States in 1958. He was the second youngest of four children, Luis, Ayme, Eduardo, and Graciela. He left Cuba amid the revolutionary crisis as a young man and came here to start a new life with nothing other than a few dollars in his pocket. He joined the US Air Force in 1961, serving 6 years stationed in Reno, NV. After his service, he met the love of his life, Alida, and they married in 1968 in Miami. They enjoyed 54 wonderful years together and were blessed with three children and five grandchildren. Eduardo was a wonderful husband and an amazing father of three children: Edward Bello, Kristine Bello and Michael Bello; father-in-law of Teresa Head Bello and Shelby Hill Bello. And later in life his pride and joy became his grandchildren (he was known as Abo to them): Daniel Bello, Tim Bello, Will Bello, Javier Bello and Alexandra Bello.

Eduardo was proud of his long career as a machine tool & die maker and was a lifelong fan of his beloved Miami Dolphins. He loved sports and particularly watching his children and grandchildren play any and all sports, always cheering them on whether it be soccer, baseball or basketball. And he especially loved playing dominoes and instilled in his grandchildren this same knowledge and love of the game. He loved to dance, always a kid at heart. A gifted gardener, he spent his later years with Alida collecting and growing some of the most beautiful orchids one has ever seen. He also found great comfort and joy in holding Kristine’s puppy, Chloe, in his last year.

Visitation is 10 AM – 12:30 PM at Vior Funeral Home, Miami, FL on Thursday June 22. In lieu of flowers the family gratefully appreciates contributions to raise funds for childhood cancer research through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation – Eduardo Bello’s Page.
