St. Petersburg, Florida Peter Andrews, 94, longtime resident of Miami Beach, Florida since 1974, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2024 at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach, Florida.

Peter was born on January 12, 1930 to Jacob and Rebecca Andrews in Chicago, Illinois. He was one of five children: His brothers, John, Oliver and William, as well as his beloved sister Rose, had all predecease­d him.

Peter died a widower and had been married to his loving wife, Tommie Jean Andrews, for 52 years before her passing. Peter is survived by his son Peter D. Andrews who remembers him fondly as a generous man who was kind to everyone he met. Peter was best known for his gift giving, wisdom and good humor. He was an exceptiona­l father and doted on his grandchild­ren Gregory “Billy” and Hannah Rebecca Andrews. He graciously touched their lives and he lives on in their memory.

Peter was a US Army veteran. He served as a communicat­ions specialist. He was a longtime employee of the Royal American Shows where he went on to become Concession­s Manager for approximat­ely two decades and traveled the Mid-Western United States and Canada. He was an Active Mason, Shriner and Jester and received numerous accommodat­ions for charitable work. He was also president of the Showman’s Associatio­n of America from 1982-83.

Peter was also a well known card player; Bridge and Poker, and frequented the Barbary Coast in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he was known for his generous tips to staff as well as the tips he gave people for horse races.

His departure does not come as a shock, as he lived a long and fruitful life exactly as he had planned to live it as a poor child growing up in the Arlington Park area of Chicago; but he will neverthele­ss be greatly missed.
