Miami, Florida - Paul Conner Steinfurth passed away on Palm Sunday, March 24, 2024 at the age of 77 following complications from Parkinson’s Disease. He was a devoted brother and uncle, a gracious friend, a doting grandfather, an idolized father and most of all a loving husband.

Born in Columbus, Ohio, Paul attended Upper Arlington High School (A Golden Bear- following Jack Niklaus) before studying Finance at Ohio State University. He met his wife Lynne during study hall senior year of high school, and their 55 beautiful years of marriage began on December 21, 1968. Soon after, they moved to Florida, which became their true home and the place they would raise their family.

Paul had an easy-going personality, a quick wit, and a keen sense for business. He successfully led real estate investor firms for over 40 years. His success in business was due in no small part to his honesty and integrity, but he was often commended for his unassuming attitude. He was a class act: an example to all.

Lynne and Paul traveled the world, but it was Paul’s love for planes, boats, and automobiles that led them to many new adventures and lifelong friendships. Whether it was Ferrari rallies in France, sailing regattas in the Northeast, or cruising the waters in the Bahamas, he was the most gracious host and loved sharing his “Happy Places” with his family and friends.

In 1983, Paul’s love for boating led his family to participate in the America’s Cup in Newport. This began a new chapter for Paul and Lynne, as they discovered Nantucket Island. They fell in love with the charming community and the wonderful lifelong friends that came with it. Nantucket became their “On Island” home for over 20 years, during which Paul spearheaded many successful business ventures and most of all, shared his love for the island and the special traditions with his grandkids.

More recently, Paul and Lynne have spent their summers at Wildcat Cliffs in Highlands, NC. Despite the slower pace of the mountains, the move never sacrificed their social life. They quickly adjusted to mountain life and the embrace of new friends and sharing it with old friends.

Of all the hats he wore,

Paul’s greatest was “Dad” and later, “Pop.” He supported his kids and grandkids in any adventure they could dream of and took great pride in watching them grow up. He shared his passions with them, and instilled in them the value of humility, graciousness, and community. The memories they shared with him are worth a lifetime.

Paul was a member of Riviera Country Club, Coral Reef Yacht Club, Ocean Reef Club, The Nantucket Golf Club, Wildcat Cliffs Country Club and Plymouth Congregational Church.

Paul is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lynne Hillstrom Steinfurth and their two children, Allison Steinfurth Byrd and Paul Robert Steinfurth (Marcia); his grandchildren, Olivia and Gavin Byrd, Ava, Preston, and Colton Steinfurth; as well as his sister Luanne Steinfurth Sadler and his niece and nephew, Dr Christopher Elliott (Suzette) and Katie Elliott Gade (David).

A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at Plymouth Congregational church (3400 Devon Road) on April 28 at 3:30 PM. Reception to follow at Riviera County Club (1155 Blue Road). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The START Program (3461 Florida Ave Miami, FL 33133), Plymouth Congregational Church (In Memory of Paul Steinfurth), or The Michael J Fox Foundation .
