OTA, minicamp practices announced

Green Bay — The Green Bay Packers announced Monday which organized team activity (OTA) and minicamp practices would be open to the media and public.

The OTA sessions on Thursday, May 28, Tuesday, June 2 and Wednesday, June 10, all at 11:30 a.m., will be open at Clarke Hinkle Field (weather permitting).

And the three mandatory minicamp practices — Tuesday, June 16 through Thursday, June 18 — are all open at Clarke Hinkle Field. Times for those sessions are to be determined.

Players will report for training camp Wednesday, July 29 with the first practice set for July 30. Rookie orientatio­n camp will be held Friday and Saturday.

Roster move: The Packers released center Joe Madsen on Monday. Signed to the practice squad Jan. 3, he spent two weeks with the team during the postseason and was re-signed Jan. 20 after the NFC title game loss.

Madsen, 6 feet 3 inches and 310 pounds, played at West Virginia before spending the 2014 season with the Los Angeles KISS of the Arena Football League.

At center, the Packers have Corey Linsley, JC Tretter and Garth Gerhart.
