-

Fiskars Corp., known for its scissors with orange handles, plans to build a new headquarters in Middleton for its operations in the Americas. The $26.3 million project will combine the company’s operations in Madison and Illinois and could create about 55 jobs. The Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. has authorized Fiskars to receive up to $800,000 in state tax credits through 2018. The tax credits will depend on the number of jobs created. In addition, Middleton will provide $3.15 million in tax increment financing for the project. Fiskars, founded in 1649, is Finland’s oldest company. It has had operations in Wisconsin since 1977.
