Fashion — the kind you wear as well as the kind that makes your home special — will take to the runway from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Aug. 26 at the eighth annual Refashion for Life charity fashion show.

Models will show off the newest apparel for fall while displaying trendy products for the home, such as counter tops, tile, cabinetry, flooring and hardware.

Participants include Barcelona Artful Living, Free Bird Clothing and Home Trends, Kohl’s, Lela and Urban Laundry.

“The new clothing and the various home improvement products available enable us to show attendees how to create a look that works for them in what they wear and where they live,” says Tom Callen of Callen Construction, one of the event organizers. “Refashion for Life offers people a variety of ways to enhance their wardrobes and homes in an economical and environmentally friendly manner.”

All proceeds support Common-Ground Ministry/Elena’s House in Wauwatosa, which provides physical, spiritual and emotional support to people infected with and affected by HIV and AIDS. Elena’s House offers a holistic ministry and a home for those who seek a safe and supportive living environment.

Libby Huwiler, fashion product developer with Kohl’s Department Store, will coordinate the fashion show and serve as an emcee, along with Stephanie Sutton of WISN-TV Channel 12. The evening will include a raffle, silent and voice auctions and a dance showcase by Fred Astaire Dance Studios professionals.

The event will take place at the Callen Construction showroom, S63 W13131 Janesville Road, Muskego. Parking and free shuttle service is at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, S66 W14325 Janesville Road, just west of the showroom. There is no parking available at the showroom.
