Jennifer Lawrence plays a woman whose life has been thwarted by others again and again sets out to do something for herself and her family — and, despite them, pulls it off. Drama based on the story of Joy Mangano, the real-life Long Island mother of three who invented the self-wringing Miracle Mop, directed by David O. Russell, with Robert De Niro and Virginia Madsen as Joy’s dysfunctio­nal parents, and Bradley Cooper as an ambitious TV shopping channel executive.

An elderly woman talks playwright Alan Bennett into letting her park her van in his driveway, and winds up living in it, there, for the next 15 years. Based on a true story, with Maggie Smith, Alex Jennings.

A Secret Service agent who saved the president from a terrorist attack at the White House is back on the case when a different terrorist targeting the president — and many of the leaders of the Western world — during a state funeral in London. Gerard Butler (as the agent), Aaron Eckhart (the president), Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett all reprise their roles from the 2013 action hit “Olympus Has Fallen.”
