Bentley’s Pet Stuff opening six stores in region

Illinois firm sells natural pet food

Bentley’s Pet Stuff, an Illinois-based company that sells natural pet food, said Tuesday it plans to open its first southeaste­rn Wisconsin stores this weekend.

Bentley’s will hold a grand opening starting Friday for stores in Delafield, Fox Point, Menomonee Falls, Milwaukee’s Bay View neighborho­od, New Berlin and Racine. In addition, Bentley’s has plans for future stores in Shorewood and Pleasant Prairie.

The chain said it also is expanding with one new store each in Chicago, Minneapoli­s and Colorado. The company said it has 41 locations in six states. Bentley’s sells natural pet food, a variety of treats, toys and other items.

“We’re thrilled to expand in these important markets and we’re continuall­y blessed with community support and enthusiasm,” Lisa Senafe, founder of Bentley’s Pet Stuff, said in a statement.

During the grand opening weekend at the new locations, shoppers will get 10% off all pet food and a free goodie bag while supplies last, the company said.

Bentley’s is a familyowne­d business founded in Arlington Heights, Ill., in 2008.

It expects to have 100 stores by spring. Bentley’s said it is one of the largest independen­t natural pet supply retailers.

To date, the company said, it has donated more than 50,000 pounds of food to local pet shelters and rescues.

Bentley’s currently has one location in Wisconsin, in Hudson.

The grand openings this weekend are set for: 2910 Golf Road, Delafield; 8663 B. N. Port Washington Road, Fox Point; N95-W18397 County Line Road, Menomonee Falls; 2532 E. Oklahoma Ave., Milwaukee; 3701 S. Moorland Road, New Berlin; and 5658 Washington Ave., Racine.
