GAME OF THE WEEK
New York Giants (8-3) at Pittsburgh Steelers (6-5) When: 3:25 p.m. Sunday (Fox). Key injuries: Giants — S Nat Berhe (concussion), LB Mark Herzlich (concussion), DE Owamagbe Odighizuwa (knee) and G Justin Pugh (knee) are out; C Brett Jones (calf) and T Marshall Newhouse (knee) are questionable. Steelers — WR Darrius Heyward-Bey (foot) and RB DeAngelo Williams (knee) are out. Player to watch: Giants DE Jason Pierre-Paul had three sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble-return touchdown last week and leads the Giants with seven sacks. Recent history: The Steelers have won two of the last three, the last a 24-20 decision in New York in November 2012. Key statistic: The Steelers have allowed only nine points on opponent opening possessions. Bottom line: The Steelers have their big three healthy and in a groove. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has thrown 15 touchdown passes and just two interceptions at home, receiver Antonio Brown is coming off a three-touchdown performance and running back Le’Veon Bell is hurting teams both on the ground (699 yards) and through the air (57 receptions). Giants trash-talking corner Janoris Jenkins will draw the assignment against Brown and better bring his A game. Brown is on pace for 119 receptions and 15 touchdowns. New York’s nohuddle offense hasn’t piled up huge yards, but quarterback Eli Manning has thrown 20 touchdown passes, tied for 10th most in the NFL. The running game remains non-existent (3.4 yards per carry) and if the Steelers choose to bring heat all game long, the Giants’ offensive line might crumble. Somehow the Giants have to find a way to slow down the rush. This game means a lot more to the Steelers than the Giants, but Pittsburgh hasn’t always played with its pants on fire.
