Throughout Wisconsin: Canadian Pacific Holiday Train. The CP Holiday Train returns to Wisconsin this week, with 14 lighted cars making a dozen stops in the state Monday through Wednesday. Each stop lasts half an hour and includes performanc­es by musicians Kelly Prescott and Colin James. The stops are free and open to the public, but viewers are encouraged to bring nonperisha­ble food items for local pantries. See the train in Sturtevant (Amtrak Depot, 5:25 p.m.) and Milwaukee (Amtrak Depot, 6:50 p.m.) on Dec. 5; Wauwatosa (Harwood Ave., 4:45 p.m.), Hartland (Cottonwood & Pawling Ave., 6:15 p.m.), Watertown (Brandt Quirk Park, 7:45 p.m.) and Columbus (Amtrak Depot, 9:05 p.m.) on Dec. 6; and Portage (Amtrak Station, 1:15 p.m.), Wisconsin Dells (Amtrak Depot, 2:45 p.m.), Mauston (Division St., 4:15 p.m.), Tomah (Amtrak Depot, 5:30 p.m.), Sparta (S. Water and Milwaukee streets, 6:40 p.m.) and La Crosse (Amtrak Station, 8:45 p.m.) on Dec. 7.

Baileys Harbor: Natural Christmas at The Ridges. Go for a stroll on a lighted boardwalk, take a wreath-making class and enjoy cider and chestnuts around a fire during this event from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday Dec. 10 at The Ridges. Baraboo: The Very Merry Holiday Fair. Browse offerings from 60 artisans at this fair Friday and Saturday at the Baraboo Arts Banquet & Convention Center. Artisans will offer everything from pottery and jewelry to baked goods and cheese. There also will be wine tasting from Baraboo Bluff Winery. Cedarburg: Festive Friday Eves. Downtown Cedarburg is a picturesqu­e destinatio­n for a little holiday getaway this time of year. Visit Friday for special events at the Cedar Creek Settlement, including visits with Santa, live music, crafts and cookie decorating for kids, wine tastings and compliment­ary cider and cookies. Green Bay: The Spirit of Christmas Past. See how Christmas was celebrated in the past at this event at Heritage Hill Historical Park Saturday and Dec. 17. Visitors can dance to historical music, help prepare Christmas meals, listen to Christmas stories, meet Old World Santa and enjoy refreshmen­ts from noon to 6 p.m. Admission is $11 for adults, $10 for seniors (62+), $8 for kids 4-15 and free for children 3 and under. Reedsburg: Living Windows. Downtown Reedsburg will transform into “A Storybrook Christmas” for this event from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. In addition to the living windows displays, there will be caroling, refreshmen­ts, horse-driven wagon rides and visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus. See reedsburg.org.

Illinois: Night of the Luminaria & Living Windows. Galena puts on its own living windows display during this event Saturday. The historic downtown will also feature more than 5,000 candlelit luminaries, trolley tours and a lantern launch. See visitgalen­a.org.

Michigan: Winter Art Tour. Tour nine art shows featuring more than 150 local artists in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti Friday through next Sunday. Visitors can also pick up a passport at any shop, get it stamped at four or more stops and be entered to win a piece of local art. See winterartt­our.org.
