Penzey’s important message

-

The ugliness Bill Penzey Jr. is talking about already has ramped up since the elections (“Penzeys facing backlash after political message,” Nov. 20).

It already has been documented by many news organizations that have all reported a major increase of racial and sexist slurs and bullying, not to mention the rise of neo-Nazism and white nationalism coming to the forefront.

In a very nice way, Penzey is saying a check and balance is required in our government, and that the public, especially those who voted for Donald Trump, needs to take ownership and keep his administration in check.

Remember, Trump has no mandate. He lost the popular vote. That means there is a large portion of this country that does not, and will not, allow anyone’s race, creed, sexual orientation, etc. to be used against them.

I agree with Penzey’s tactfully suggested comment that if this presidency goes bad, it is OK to admit it was a mistake and people can help others and our country from going backward 60 or more years. Penzey has nothing to worry about because he knows, as well as those who voted for Trump, we are all in this together. Rich or poor, white, yellow, brown or black, we all have a lot to lose.

Mr. Penzey, I say, “lose a few customers and save our country, it’s dignity and honor — not a bad deal!” Keep speaking your mind. Robert Wardinski West Allis
