Two stores replace Sports Authority
T.J. Maxx and Five Below to open at Whitestone Station
T.J. Maxx and Five Below will open stores next year at the Whitestone Station development in Menomonee Falls, taking space initially set aside for a nowdefunct retailer.
The two discount chains will be in a multitenant retail building at N91W16067 Falls Parkway, developer Scott Yauck said Monday. That new building now features HomeGoods, Ross Dress for Less and Ulta Beauty.
A fourth space, with around 35,000 square feet, was initially leased by Sports Authority. But that bankrupt chain in May announced it was closing.
T.J. Maxx has since signed a lease for just under 23,500 square feet at the building, according to Mid-America Real Estate. Firm principals Dan Cohen and Tony Colvin represented the retailer.
Five Below will take the remaining space, said Yauck, principal at Cobalt Partners LLC, which is developing Whitestone Station. Yauck said both new stores will open by late spring or early summer.
Whitestone Station and The Junction at Whitestone Station apartments, which are being developed by Fiduciary Real Estate Development Inc., are south of Interstate 41/U.S. Highway 45, between Pilgrim Road and Water St.
Those projects are part of a 67-acre site featuring former industrial properties that are being redeveloped. Minneapolis-based Ryan Cos. in 2013 completed a combined Wisconsin Athletic Club and Froedtert Health sports medicine facility just east of Whitestone Station.
Whitestone Station’s other commercial buildings include a Costco store, which opened just over a year ago, and a 105-room Home2Suites extended-stay hotel that is under construction.
