College basketball: UConn women rout Ohio State.

Katie Lou Samuelson scored eight of her 26 points during a key thirdquart­er run, and No. 1 UConn beat 13th-ranked Ohio State, 82-63, Monday night in Hartford, Conn., for the Huskies’ 85th consecutiv­e victory.

Napheesa Collier had 27 points and 11 rebounds for the Huskies (10-0), who are five games away from matching their NCAA record 90-game winning streak set from 2008-’10. MEN BIG TEN

(15) Purdue 82, Western Illinois 50: Caleb Swanigan had 21 points and 21 rebounds for the host Boilermake­rs (10-2) in a romp past the Leathernec­ks (3-8). TOP 25

(4) Duke 65, Tennessee State 55: Luke Kennard scored 24 points as the sluggish Blue Devils (11-1) turned back the visiting Tigers (8-3).

The game marked the college debut of touted Duke freshman Harry Giles. One of the nation’s top recruits, he missed his senior season in high school with torn ligaments in his right knee and then missed the first 11 games at Duke after having his left knee scoped in October. He played four minutes and did not score.

(22) Florida State 76, Samford 68: Terrence Mann scored 19 points and the host Seminoles (12-1) downed the Bulldogs (7-4) for their eighth-straight victory.

(24) Notre Dame 77, Colgate 62: V.J. Beachem scored 20 points to help the Fighting Irish (10-2) coast past the visiting Raiders (2-10).

HORIZON LEAGUE

UW-Green Bay 94, SIU-Edwardsvil­le 92: Kerem Kanter hit a turnaround jump-hook with four seconds left in overtime and the host Phoenix (5-6) edged the Cougars (4-8).
