Man charged in 2 fatal shootings
Victims killed separately in October
A 24-year-old Milwaukee man already charged with kidnapping and attempted homicide is now accused of fatally shooting two men this fall, according to a criminal complaint.
It is the latest case in a series of what prosecutors have described as gang-related and witness-intimidation shootings and killings in the city.
Christopher M. Anderson faces charges of firstdegree intentional homicide, as a party to the crime, in the fatal shootings of Jarvis Johnson on Oct. 6 and Vincent Williams on Oct. 12.
He remained in Milwaukee County Jail Thursday on nearly $1 million bail.
According to the criminal complaint:
Johnson, 28, was found shot to death in the 2400 block of N. 35th St. Officers discovered several 9mm bullet casings a few blocks away and determined that was where the shooting occurred. Investigators also knew Johnson was related to a potential witness in a case involving a freeway shootout months earlier and that Anderson was close to a suspect in that incident.
Police used the casings, surveillance footage and GPS data from Anderson’s online accounts to place him near the homicide scene.
Six days later, Williams, 44, was found with a single gunshot wound to his head near in an alley in the 4200 block of N. 21st St. Detectives noted it appeared his body had been moved and that the shooting had taken place elsewhere.
Police believe Williams, a drug dealer, was killed during a robbery. His phones and car were missing. The last call he made was to a number linked to Anderson’s associate.
Milwaukee police contacted OnStar and tracked the stolen vehicle to several places across the city. While the car was parked at a gas station, police squad cars pulled up and trapped it.
Anderson was in the driver’s seat with a gun on his lap. Another gun was on the passenger seat, as well as suspected heroin.
He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on the homicide charges Dec. 29.
