A man whose beating was captured on Snapchat was forced to eat kitty litter and cat feces by those now charged with his death.

The three accused of killing Delvin Mendoza-Chaparro on Dec. 19 in Milwaukee beat him, urinated on him and posted the event to Mendoza-Chaparro’s Snapchat account, according to criminal complaints.

Two brothers and a woman have each been charged with first-degree reckless homicide, as parties to a crime. According to the complaints:

Devin Katzfey, 20, forced Mendoza-Chaparro to eat cat litter and feces from the litter box while, Branden Katzfey, 19, urinated on the 20year-old man.

The Katzfey brothers and Sarah Zakzesky, 20, allegedly took turns beating Mendoza-Chaparro at Zakzesky’s apartment in the 400 block of W. Rogers St.

Mendoza-Chaparro was later found in an alley near S. 6th and W. Hayes streets wearing a blue Marquette University sweatshirt, with his jeans pulled down, no shoes and no socks. He appeared to have been severely beaten in the neck and head and left outside in 14-degree weather.

Investigators discovered three short videos posted to Mendoza-Chaparro’s Snapchat account. The first video showed the severely injured victim lying on the floor and apparently still alive. A voice later identified as Devin Katzfey is heard saying, “You got knocked the (expletive) out, bitch.”

In the second video, the victim is shown lying near a doorway. “You hear me, that’s what happens when you try to steal,” says the person operating the iPhone, showing a full image of himself with tattoos on his neck and upper body. The person speaking matched prior booking photos of Devin Katzfey.

Devin Katzfey’s voice is reportedly heard on the third video.

Zakzesky told investigators the incident began after a night of marijuana smoking at her apartment. She said that Devin Katzfey accused Mendoza-Chaparro of stealing a bong, a pipe and other items, grabbed him, dragged him into the kitchen and began beating him. She said she also punched and kicked Mendoza-Chaparro a few times and that Branden Katzfey hit him in the face approximately five times.

Zakzesky then drove Devin Katzfey and the unconscious victim to the spot where his body was later found. She told police she suggested they go to a hospital, but Devin Katzfey said no.
