Tea for Life a multigenerational event that helps nonprofit
The message of Christ’s birth, which is often lost in the hubbub of Santa, holiday parties and rampant consumerism, was brought home during one Christmasseason event that focused on, among other things, support for women and families facing tough choices because of unexpected pregnancies, sorrow over the loss of a child or spouse, or dealing with special needs children.
Life’s Connection, a Waukesha-area not-for-profit that provides community education, support and mentoring that will build emotional, social and spiritual health, held its first Tea for Life on Nov. 29 at Bluemound Golf and Country Club.
The tea was a festive multigenerational event with many attendees there with their moms or daughters. Jean Kelly was there with her mother, Marge Porubcan, and daughter-inlaw Erin Kelly as well as a table of friends that included Laurie Brahm, Lynne Miller, Kathy Myers, Laurie Mulhaney, Liz Pesci, Mary Jo McCormick and Lydia LoCoco. Michelle Law brought her mother, Betty Jean Waldron, and sister-in-law Jane Ashley. Anne Miller was there with her mom, Joan Schmank. Also seated at the Law table were Judy Pequet, Pat Larkin, Connie Schwaab, Georgette Rippinger and Joan Neustedter.
Also enjoying the tea were Mary Schneider, Pat Keller, Rita Stevens, Peggy Oldam, Peggy Roedel, Carrie Heider, Julie Archibald, Christine VanderBloemen, Maddy Laufenberg, Amy Gehrke, Penny Kroog, Terri Maciejewski and Sue Gerke.
