Beer Here: New tour option.

Beginning Saturday, Hop Head Tours has a new excursion: the River North Beer Tour. It makes the circuit to Good City, Black Husky and Bavarian Bierhaus.

The tour, which lasts more than three hours, includes guided looks behind the scenes and samples at each brewery stop. Tours will be held at 3 p.m. each Saturday. Tickets are $60. (There’s a $10 discount for using the code brandnew). See hopheadtou­rs.com.

Saturday: Take a tour of the Schlitz Brewery, 221 W. Galena St. Tours begin at 3 p.m. and cost $10. See the event page on Facebook.

Tuesday: Sugar Maple, mostly known as one of the top beer bars in the country, hosts Story Slam: Change of Heart from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Sugar Maple is at 441 E. Lincoln Ave. Tickets are $10 and are available at exfabula.org.

Wednesday: The Milwaukee Beer Society takes over Third Space Brewing, 1505 W. St. Paul Ave., from 6 to 9 p.m. Samples are included in the $10 price. Membership is a one-time $10 fee. See the event page at Facebook.

Thursday: Draft & Vessel, 4417 N. Oakland Ave., Shorewood, pits Central Waters against Tyranena in a battle of the breweries from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $35 for seven pairings and includes food and brewery swag, according to the event page on Facebook.

Looking ahead at beer festivals:

Jan. 21: The Isthmus Beer and Cheese Festival pairs two of Wisconsin’s favorite things from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. Ticket prices are $50 for general admission and $85 for premium, which gets patrons in early.

Jan. 26: Glorioso’s Market, 1011 E. Brady St., hosts its first Beer, Cheese and Sausage event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 and available at gloriosos.com.

Jan. 28: The Ice Cold Beer Fest in Minocqua celebrates its 19th year of cold brews for a good cause. Expect to sample more than 250 different craft beers as fest-goers did last year, but this year, the list extends to Minnesota, Michigan and Illinois breweries. The heated tent also will feature live music and food to help raise money for the Howard Young Foundation’s Dr. Kate Hospice and other local charities. The festival starts at 1 p.m. and is held at Torpy Park, 238 Lakeshore Drive. Tickets are $20 to $45 and are available online at Eventbrite.com.

Feb. 4: Fond du Lac Brewfest opens with more than 200 Wisconsin-only beers. The eighthannu­al event begins at 5 p.m. at the Fond du Lac Expo Center, 601 Martin Ave., in Fond du Lac. Ticket prices begin at $39.

Feb. 11: The Micro Craft beer Pavilion at Wisconsin State Fair Park hosts Keg Killer Winter Beer Festival, an outdoor beer fest that will include familiar names but also smaller selfdistri­buted breweries. The festival begins at 1 p.m. for VIPs and 1:30 p.m. for general admission. Ticket prices are $65 and $45.

Feb. 18: The Milwaukee Public Museum hosts Food & Froth for the 19th time. Party in the museum. Sip on the Streets of Old Milwaukee. Ticket prices range from $135 to $75.

Feb. 19: The Milwaukee Ale House, 233 N. Water St., is the site of the 20th annual Midwinter Brewfest from 1 to 5 p.m. Tickets are $45. The festival benefits the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer fund. See the event page on Facebook.
