Destiny upsets top-ranked Vincent

- Mark Stewart

The area’s top-ranked boys basketball team went down Saturday.

Destiny rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit to beat Milwaukee Vincent, 69-67, on the road. Cameron Posey, a senior guard, had 17 points and hit 3 threepointers for Destiny, which is ranked ninth in the area by the Journal Sentinel.

The big shot, however, came from senior forward Sarion McGee, who also finished with 17 points. It was his bucket in the paint that gave Destiny the lead with 3 seconds left.

After Vincent’s final attempt was off the mark — senior Justin Brookens took a shot from near half court — Destiny celebrated its second big road win of the season. It opened the year with a win at Whitnall. GYMNASTICS
