Hakeem Tucker was armed with a gun when he climbed in the window of his former girlfriend’s house and was confronted by her father, authorities say.

As the two struggled, his former girlfriend, Stephanie Jones, came into the bedroom and shouted: “Don’t shoot my daddy,” according to the criminal complaint.

Then, Tucker aimed the pistol at her father and shot him, before turning around and shooting her in the chest, the complaint says.

Jones, 18, was killed and her 54year-old father was seriously injured.

Tucker, the father of Jones’ 2year-old daughter, was charged Monday with first-degree intentional homicide, attempted first-degree intentional homicide and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He remained in Milwaukee County Jail on $500,000 bail.

The shooting occurred about 2 a.m. Jan. 3 in the 2300 block of N. 41st St.

According to the criminal complaint:

Jones’ mother told police she had just fed her 2-year-old granddaughter when she saw Tucker climbing in through the bedroom window.

She witnessed the shooting and scooped up her granddaughter and fled, fearing Tucker “intended to murder everyone in the home.” A 15year-old teen who was staying in the house also witnessed the shooting and ran from the home.

Her mother said Jones told her Tucker had stalked her and had been physically abusive, even pointing a pistol at her numerous times.

Tucker, 18, was armed when he was arrested Friday after a tense encounter with police.

Once in custody, he told detectives the shooting happened after Jones’ father confronted him in a car and the two struggled over a gun.

During the interview, Tucker asked to see a photo of Jones “lying dead on the floor.”

He said wanted “to see that photo again because he did not get a chance to see her run into the other room and collapse. (Tucker) then started to laugh,” according to the criminal complaint.

Tucker was on probation for an armed robbery conviction at the time of the shooting.

If convicted of the new charges, he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Visitation for Jones is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at New Pitts Mortuary followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m.
