River Falls nips Point

Alex Herink hit a jumper with 1 second left, giving UW-River Falls a thrilling 69-68 victory over UW-Stevens Point on Saturday in River Falls.

The Falcons (14-1, 4-0 WIAC), ranked No. 7 in the D3hoops.com poll, led a majority of the second half, but the Pointers (8-6, 2-2) were able to step in front on MJ Delmore’s basket with 13 seconds remaining.

UW-Oshkosh 70, UWEau Claire 62: Charlie Noone poured in 18 points to help the visiting Titans (9-5, 2-1 WIAC) hold off the 10th-ranked Blugolds (12-2, 2-1).

UW-Stout 65, UW-La Crosse 60: Jacob Nordstrom and Cory Speer paced a balanced effort with 12 points apiece for the host Blue Devils (12-3, 3-1 WIAC) in a win over the Eagles (9-6, 1-3).

UW-Whitewater 68, UW-Plattevill­e 66: Cole Van Schyndel, who finished with 17 points, put in a layup with 2 seconds left for the 21st-ranked Warhawks (12-3, 1-3 WIAC) as they edged the visiting Pioneers (7-8, 0-4).

UW-Parkside 86, Missouri-St. Louis 59: Kendale McCullum had a game-high 22 points for the Rangers (14-1, 6-0 GLVC), who beat the Tritons (8-9, 2-5) in Somers.

Ripon 78, Cornell 66: Ty Sabin’s 19 points paced the Red Hawks (11-2, 7-1 Midwest) at home against the Rams (5-8, 3-5).

Grinnell 111, Beloit 92: Despite having five players in double figures, the host Buccaneers (4-9, 2-6 Midwest) were unable to keep pace with the Pionners (8-5, 5-3).

St. Norbert 65, Monmouth 40: A balanced offense and a defense that held the Fighting Scots (310, 3-5 Midwest) to 27.5% shooting led the No. 9 Green Knights (11-2, 8-0) in De Pere.

Lawrence 63, Illinois College 54: Jeremy Stephani had 23 points to lift the Vikings (6-6, 6-2 Midwest) over the Blueboys (3-10, 0-8) in Appleton.

MSOE 72, Concordia (Ill.) 66: The Raiders (7-6, 6-3 NACC) held off the pesky Cougars (3-11, 2-9) in Milwaukee behind Collin Seubert’s double-double.

Aurora 75, Wisconsin Lutheran 61: The Warriors (8-7, 6-5 NACC) were never able to recover from a cold-shooting first half at home against the Spartans (9-5, 7-3) .

Concordia 83, Benedictin­e 80: The Falcons (8-6, 7-4 NACC) upset the 14th-ranked Eagles (11-4, 9-1) in Mequon as John Hau tallied 30 points.

Rockford 96, Lakeland 75: The Muskies (4-9, 3-7 NACC) were unable to survive the onslaught Zach Wallace (34 points) and Tony Diemer (33) provided the host Regents (5-11, 4-7).

Dominican 74, Marian 69: The visiting Sabres (510, 4-6 NACC) took the lead with 1:55 remaining, but the Stars (7-7, 5-5) prevailed thanks to a 10-3 run the rest of the way.

Augustana 85, Carroll 66: Kyle Keranen put together a 24-point night for the Pioneers (8-7, 3-3 CCIW) during their loss to the Vikings (12-3, 5-1) in Rock Island, Ill.

Illinois Wesleyan 77, Carthage 74: The visiting Red Men (11-4, 4-2 CCIW) fell just short against the No. 22 Titans (12-4, 4-3) despite getting 18 points from Thomas Jordan.

Indiana-South Bend 81, Cardinal Stritch 73: Carlos Knox’s 17 points were not enough for the Wolves (10-11, 6-5 CCAC) against the host Titans (11-9, 5-6).
