Insurer to take over Miller Park club area

Northwestern Mutual charity to benefit

The Milwaukee Brewers and Northwestern Mutual on Monday announced a multiyear partnership between the two organizations that includes transforming the former Gehl Club area of Miller Park into the Northwestern Mutual Legends Club.

“The Northwestern Mutual Legends Club will pay homage to the rich history of baseball in the Cream City as well as Northwestern Mutual’s 160-year heritage as a leading financial security company since 1857,” the Brewers said in a statement.

The Northwestern Mutual Legends Club will be located along the third base line on the Club Level and is available for groups and season seat-holders. The area has a capacity of 260.

This new partnership will shine a spotlight on Northwestern Mutual’s national philanthropic program in the fight against childhood cancer by bringing Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation — the company’s national nonprofit research partner — to Miller Park.

During Saturday and Sunday home games, fans will be able to purchase lemonade from a custom, Northwestern Mutualbranded lemonade stand staffed by Northwestern Mutual volunteers and Brewers employees. Gross proceeds from the stand will be donated to ALSF for research in support of treatments and cures for childhood cancers.

“This partnership with the Milwaukee Brewers will enable us to strengthen and improve our community, while we also help fight childhood cancer,” John Schlifske, chairman and CEO of Northwestern Mutual, said in the statement.

Since 2012, the company’s Childhood Cancer Program has contributed almost $14 million and funded more than 155,000 hours of research with the help of its employees and financial representatives nationwide. In 2015, the company established the Northwestern Mutual Day Hospital located in the MACC Fund Center at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin to accelerate the search for a cure for childhood cancer and provide support for families affected by the disease.

“Northwestern Mutual has a long track record of committed support for the local community, and we are thrilled that these efforts extend to this partnership with the hometown Brewers,” Rick Schlesinger, Brewers chief operating officer, said in the statement. “Our organizations share many of the same goals, and this relationship will bring benefits not only to Brewers fans, but also to a terrific cause.”

The Northwestern Mutual club features an “all-you-can-eat” buffet, which is included with the price of the game ticket. The buffet features dishes prepared by the club chef, and include a carving station, appetizers and a gourmet salad station. Each ticket to the club comes with two complimentary beers or glasses of wine. Fans are able to catch all the game action with indoor and outdoor seating options, spacious lounge area, private entrance and restrooms as well as a concierge and personal wait staff.

Tickets for the Northwestern Mutual Legends Club start at $85 per person. To learn more information about the club or to purchase tickets, fans can contact the Brewers group sales department at (414) 902-GRPS (4777) or visit
