Woodland Pattern Book Center, 720 E. Locust St., holds its 23rd annual poetry marathon and benefit

Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. For the uninitiate­d, the event brings together poets and writers — this year, 150 of them — who must raise at least $35 in pledges to perform; all of the money raised goes to Woodland Pattern’s literary and arts programmin­g. Relic Show Saturday and Sunday at the Milwaukee County Sports Complex, 6000 W. Ryan Road, Franklin. More than 150 makers of recycled, reclaimed and handcrafte­d items will be on hand to sell their stuff from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Admission is $7, free for kids 12 and younger. “Momentum,” a program of four world-premiere works performed by dancers with Milwaukee Ballet II, takes the stage at the South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center, 901 15th Ave., South Milwaukee, at 2 and 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Brewers on Deck 2017 is our late-January reminder that, yes, spring will return. Milwaukee Brewers players, coaches and officials will be on hand for Q&A and autograph sessions, photo opportunit­ies, game shows and more. There’s also a Kids Zone full of interactiv­e games and other stuff to do. On Deck runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Wisconsin Center, 400 W. If you’re still embracing winter, there’s the

Winter Carnival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, 1111 E. Brown Deer Road, Bayside. There’ll be sleigh rides, lake and trail hikes, a 40-minute Aldo Leopold musical and an owl meet-andgreet. Parking is at Bayside School, 601 E. Ellsworth Lane, with free shuttle buses to the nature center (the center’s parking is reserved that day for handicappe­d parking only). Admission is $10, $5 for youths and for nature center members.
