Cedarburg: Winter Festival. Cedarburg knows how to throw a good festival, and the town’s winter incarnatio­n Feb. 18-19 is no exception. This year’s theme is Mardi Gras and activities include an ice carving contest, hay wagon rides, ice golf, a chili cookoff and themed bed races. See cedarburg festival.org.

Conover: Blizzard Blast. Head to Conover Community Park Feb. 18 for a flurry of activities. Visitors can enjoy horse-drawn scenic rides, ice bowling, winter carnival games, snowshoe baseball, recliner races, slap shot hockey, snowboard and snowshoe demos, bonfires and food. See blizzard-blast.com.

Delavan: Sky Circus on Ice. Profession­al kite flyers will put on a colorful display during this festival at Lake Lawn Resort Feb. 17-19. Grand launches will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday and next Sunday, with snow sculpting, ice carving, kite-making workshops and more activities throughout the weekend. See

Drummond: Bar Stool Races. Cheer on competitor­s as they slide down a snow-covered hill on bar stools outfitted with skis. This annual fundraiser at the Black Bear Inn takes place on Feb. 18. Races start at noon and the event includes food, drinks and raffles. See drummond wi.com.

Kenosha: Restaurant Week. Restaurant­s in downtown Kenosha will offer special prix fixe menus for breakfast ($10), lunch ($10) and dinner ($20 and $30) Feb. 1826. Participat­ing restaurant­s include Captain Mike’s, Franks, Kaiser’s and Trolley Dogs. See

Kohler: In Celebratio­n of Chocolate. Kohler hosts its fifth annual chocolate-infused weekend Feb. 1719 complete with special dinners, demonstrat­ions and pairings from Kohler chefs and chocolatie­rs. Madison: Winter Festival. Madison’s big winter festival Feb. 18-19 moves from the Capitol Square to Elver Park this year. But you’ll still find your favorite winter activities, including cross-country skiing, fat biking, ice skating, hockey, sledding, snow carving, skijoring and kids games. See

Sturgeon Bay: Fire & Ice Festival. A citywide ice and snow carving competitio­n is the centerpiec­e of this festival in downtown Sturgeon Bay on Feb. 18. People can vote for their favorites, then attend the Fire & Ice Gala, Dance and Auction at Stone Harbor Resort on Saturday night. Tickets are $75. See
