Miami knocks off reeling Virginia.

Bruce Brown made a three-pointer with 23.8 seconds left in overtime and visiting Miami beat No. 19 Virginia, 54-48, on Monday night for the Cavaliers fourth straight loss.

Brown scored 14 points to lead the Hurricanes (19-8, 9-6 ACC) to their third consecutiv­e victory. Kamari Murphy and Dejan Vasiljevic added 10 points each.

Devon Hall scored 15 points to lead Virginia (18-9, 8-7), which last lost four straight in 2009-’10, Tony Bennett’s first season as coach. Isaiah Wilkins added 10 points and 10 rebounds, including two free throws with four seconds left in regulation to tie it.

Miami thought it had won when Davon Reed hit a three-pointer at the end of the second half, but a video review was used to determine he released the ball just after the buzzer.

(13) West Virginia 77, Texas 62: Jevon Carter scored 24 points and Lamont West added 23 as the host Mountainee­rs (22-6, 10-5 Big 12) turned back the Longhorns (10-18, 4-11).

(20) Florida State 104, Boston College 72: Dwayne Bacon had 16 points and 13 Florida State players had at least four points as the Seminoles (22-6, 10-5 ACC) trounced the visiting Eagles (9-19, 2-13).

WOMEN

UW-Green Bay 65, Illinois-Chicago 31: Jessica Lindstrom scored 18 points and the host Phoenix (22-5, 13-3 Horizon League) overpowere­d the Flames (5-23, 215).
